Privacy Policy
Vikoozi is designed to work without an account or a Vikoozi-operated server. The app does not contain advertising or analytics. The developer does not receive your protected-app selections, parental-control settings, Parent PIN verification data, or learning progress.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the Vikoozi mobile application on iOS, iPadOS, and Android. Platform-specific behavior is explained below. “Vikoozi,” “we,” and “us” refer to the developer of the Vikoozi app.
2. Information Vikoozi stores on your device
Depending on the platform and the features you use, Vikoozi stores the information needed to provide its core functions, such as:
- the apps or app categories a parent chooses to protect;
- Parent PIN verification data and parental-control settings;
- challenge settings, learning progress, earned time, and related app state; and
- technical preferences needed for the app and its system components to work together.
This information is stored locally on the device. It is not sent to a Vikoozi account or Vikoozi-operated backend because Vikoozi does not provide either one.
3. iPhone and iPad
Apple Screen Time technologies
On iOS and iPadOS, Vikoozi uses Apple’s Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity technologies to let a parent select apps or categories, apply a system shield, and manage access through the Vikoozi challenge flow. Apple requires the appropriate Screen Time authorization before these features can work.
Selections made through Apple’s Family Activity Picker are represented by privacy-preserving system tokens. Vikoozi stores the selections and related settings locally in an App Group so the main app and its Screen Time extensions can coordinate. Vikoozi does not use these selections for advertising, analytics, or profiling, and does not transmit them to the developer.
Apple and the operating system process information as needed to provide Screen Time and Family Controls. Their handling of that information is governed by Apple’s terms and privacy practices.
4. Android
Android system access
The Android version is intended to use device-level access only for user-requested parental-control functions, such as identifying an app a parent has chosen to protect, detecting when protection should be applied, and presenting the Vikoozi challenge or enforcement screen.
App selections, parental-control settings, Parent PIN verification data, challenge state, and learning progress are intended to remain on the device and are not used for advertising, analytics, or profiling or sent to the developer.
Android release note: The exact Android permissions and enforcement mechanisms must be verified against the final release build before the Android version is published. This policy will be updated if the final build accesses additional device or usage information.
5. Data collection, sharing, and third parties
Vikoozi does not create user accounts and does not include a developer-operated backend, advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or tracking technologies. The developer does not collect or receive the locally stored information described in this policy. Vikoozi does not sell personal data or share it with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics providers.
Your device platform and app marketplace may independently process information when you download the app or use system services. Those activities are controlled by Apple, Google, or your device provider and are governed by their own privacy policies.
6. Children’s privacy
Vikoozi is intended to be configured and supervised by a parent or guardian. The app does not ask a child to create an account or provide a name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifier to Vikoozi. Parents and guardians should review the permissions and protected-app choices they configure on the device.
7. Retention and deletion
Vikoozi’s configuration and progress information remains on the device until it is changed, reset, or removed through the app or operating system. Because this information is not uploaded to Vikoozi, the developer does not hold a server copy to delete. Removing the app normally removes its app-local data; some operating-system-managed settings or shared-container data may need to be disabled or removed through the device’s settings or the app’s reset controls.
You can revoke system access at any time in the relevant iOS/iPadOS Screen Time settings or Android system settings. Revoking access may prevent Vikoozi’s protection features from working.
8. Security
Vikoozi minimizes data handling by keeping its settings and progress on the device and relying on the operating system’s application sandbox and protected system APIs. No method of storage is guaranteed to be completely secure, so keep your device and operating system up to date and protect access to your device.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if Vikoozi’s features, platform integrations, or legal obligations change. The current version will remain available at this URL, with its effective date shown above.
